経歴：

Maria Grazia Speranza was born in 1957, graduated in Mathematics in 1980 and received her PhD in Applied Mathematics in 1983 at the University of Milan. Since 1994 she is full professor of Operations Research at the University of Brescia. She has been president of the Research Council and Vice-president of the University of Brescia and is at present Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business. Her main scientific interests are: models and algorithms for transportation and logistics, vehicle routing problems, combinatorial optimization, portfolio optimization problems and solution methods. She is author of more than 100 refereed papers which appeared on international volumes and journals such as Operations Research, Management Science, Transportation Science, Transportation Research, Journal of Scheduling, Algorithmica, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Discrete Mathematics, European Journal of Operational Research, Operations Research Letters. She has been editor of international volumes and special issues of journals such as European Journal of Operational Research, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Annals of Operations Research. She serves as associate editor of Transportation Science and referee for several international journals. She has been member of the Scientific Committee of several international conferences and organized the first workshop on "Models and algorithms for planning and scheduling problems (MAPSP)" in Como (Italy) in 1993, the "4th International workshop on distribution logistics" in Brescia in 1998, TRISTAN IV in the Azores Islands (Portugal) in 2001 and Odysseus in Palermo (Italy) in 2003.

1966年兵庫県生まれ， 1990 東京農工大学数理情報工学専攻修了． 同年日本IBMに入社以来、同社東京基礎研究所に所属． 現在、同研究所にて最適化＆アルゴリズムを担当． 1995年より最適化アルゴリズムの研究に従事し、自由 形状ネスティング、配送経路問題、鉄鋼業における生 産スケジューリングなど、実世界の組合せ最適化問題 に取り組む。
